  • 5th Annual New London Chowder Challenge

Noon

  • Midshipmen from the United States Merchant Marine Academy will be joined by Congressman Joe Courtney in laying a wreath of remembrance at the World War II memorial dedicated to members of the merchant marine and Navy Guard who lost their lives in the war. The memorial is at the northern edge of Fort Trumbull State Park.

1:00 P.M.

  • USCG Search and Rescue (SAR) Demonstration on Thames River with helo and small boat participation

6:00 P.M.

  • Flock Theatre presents The Fifth Burning of Benedict Arnold featuring the march of the traitor down Bank St. to the Waterfront Park

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10

9:00 A.M.

  • Oliver Hazard Perry boards students for departure to Newport, RI

10:30 A.M.

  • Schooners depart for The Morgan Cup Challenge Race

12:00 P.M.

  • The Morgan Cup Challenge race begins. Awards Ceremony to follow on board winning ship

12:30 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
